- TOPSE data managers:
Luca Cinquini (303-497-1432) and
Louisa Emmons (303-497-1491).
Please don't hesitate to contact us for any problems.
- TOPSE data files must be in
NASA-GTE format: please see
the official TOPSE document at
data_fmt.html.
- In particular, the files names must follow the convention:
piXYZcFN.top , where:
- pi is the
two-letters code for the PI
- XYZ are three alpha-numeric characters indicating the species
measured
- c is the aircraft code (c-130)
- FN is the two-digits flight number: 01, 02, etc.
- .ext=.top for the TOPSE campaign
- NOTE: GTE-formatted files are classified into different
GTE data set types according
to the measurement technique.
Most common data types are data set types DT=0,1,2.
Most web analysis and visualization programs will work only for these
data set types.
- Preliminary data is due within two days of the aircraft coming back
to Jeffco after each mission.
- Preliminary data merges should be available for analysis by the PIs in two
days after after the single data files are submitted. Merged data files will
be produced by use of the GTE-merging program developed by Martin Shultz
and Francois Ravetta at Harvard University (with slight modifications
for the TOPSE campaign).
- All TOPSE data files and data analysis tools accessible through the web
will be password-protected. Either the general TOPSE web password
or the PI-specific web password will work.
- TOPSE data files must be submitted to and will be archive on the ACD data
server (dataserver.acd.ucar.edu, aliased to topse.acd.ucar.edu).
Each PI may choose to submit the data in two different ways:
- WEB submission
- Use URL
http://topse.acd.ucar.edu/data/upload/
- Advantage: automatic check of GTE format
- Advantage: may submit some data files in eneric ASCII
format, and they will be converted directly to GTE format
- Each PI must use their assigned web username
and password (different from the usernames and
passwords used to FTP to dataserver.acd.ucar.edu).
- NOTE: web submission precedure must still be tested
thoroughly
- FTP submission
- Follow instructions at
http://topse.acd.ucar.edu/data/upload/help_ftp.html
- Data files submitted must already be in GTE format
(no format-conversion routine provided).
- Must run the check script manually by rlogin to
dataserver.
- PI must have an account on dataserver.acd.ucar.edu.
If you are part of ACD, an account has already been
created with the same username and password as
on acd.ucar.edu. If you are a visitor or from some other
division in NCAR, you may request an account on dataserver
by filling a
web form
